Just got my Popular Mechanics and they took the SS and GT500 to the salt flats for a top speed test. The SS hit 174.4 and the GT500 got 184.7. It said the SS hit the areo dynamic barrior and the Mustang hit the redline.

Funny thing the driver tried shifting into R at 140. He also said it was cool setting the cruise control at 159.

 

Hmm they should put this on their website. Not really a fair comparo given HP diff.. but hey.. I'd still take the camaro or wait for the Z28..

 

Well they also mentioned price diff too, but I guess there was no reason to take a GT.
