I don't Get It?
I finally test drove a 5th gen today, a 2012 v6 manual shift with only 15 miles. I'm trying to fugure out where the 320 hp was on this car? I didn't get it up over 5,000 rpm but I didn't think I would have to to feel some power in this car, car felt slower than my 2000 v6 camaro. I have read that it is possible that camaros feel slow when brand new and drive much better when broken in. How true is this for the v6's??
I need to drive a used one to see the difference.
I otherwised like the car, thought it was really cool, I drove the ls, the bare bones v6, the stereo was okay being the base model, but not nearly as good as my JVC in my 2000 camaro, is the upgraded stereo much better?

I think that it is a good car considering that they are trying to bring back the old style but the power seems very weak from your interpretation it would be worth driving it around more and seeing what suits you best if you don't like it don't buy it but if you do like it get it and if you have some money then you can slowly upgrade the motor, sound system, wheels etc... your camaro has: 320HP and the 1967 Camaro had: around 350HP give or take (i'm not a expert but thats what my Dad's has in it they originally came out with a v6 his has a v8)anyway so if you look they still had around the same horsepower and camaros have around that power stock so if you think about it your camaro should have the same amount of power as the 67 anyway it depends on you personally i would get a 1967 camaro and then you can restore, fix, upgrade etc more i would think than the newer ones but its your decision don't let me make your mind make your own mind up. Ok
The V6 makes 323 h.p. @ 6800 rpm, which means you don't approach anywhere near the peak h.p. under normal driving conditions. Maximum h.p. at that rpm level is useless on a street car, if what you're after is stoplight to stoplight fun.
Also, torque is 278 ft lbs @ 4800 rpm. Again you were hardly there. What you're missing is the grunt feeling of off the line torque. You'll certainly get that with the V8 model, not the V6.

Right now my decision is between a Scion TC or a v6 camaro. I like the camaro better just because of the looks/feel inside & out. Camaro seemed to have a little more speed but i expected it to have a lot more. I need to test drive a broken in one or maybe rent one, suposedly Avis car rental rents out camaros.
Also the difference may be in the limited visability & quiter exhaust on the car makes it feel slower compared to my 2000.

I have about 4000 miles on mine....and I love it. I came out of a 2009 Mustang GT with 300 HP and it had axle back magnapaks, a cold air induction, and a hp increase tune. I would say they are comparable. The only thing I noticed is that when the AC is on in the Mustang it wan't noticeable, but in the Camaro it is. I guess its a Torque thing from the
V-8 versus the V-6
V-8 versus the V-6

He did a little better than the 99 Crustang GT did believe it or not, but it just wasnt in the cards for him that day...
