favorite thing so far?
this goes out to everyone who has received their new camaro so far...well heck, it goes out to everyone who has seen or gotten to drive one so far too...
what is your favorite thing about the car so far? since this is a forum dedicated to the camaro, let's gloat, daydream, and reminisce about our times so far with the new camaro...
pessimists may also contribute if you have something you absolutely want to see changed in the coming years on the camaro...lol let's see if your ideas can help GM recapture the american spirit with your suggestions lol

i used to think the same about the interior but it's starting to grow on me and i started thinking about the reasoning behind the interior materials used...
in my opinion the most cost cutting occurred in the interior fit and finish, but i'm trying to see good in this in the fact that it keeps the camaro as the muscle car with the most punch for the buck...36,000 for a best of the best camaro ss is a steal compared to what a heavier equally powered and slightly finer interior-bearing srt 8 challenger has (finer interior claim based on the navigation and legroom)...
so i guess the interior has grown on me because in the end the camaro is packing the most punch for the buck and i actually really like the look of the gauges and interior at night especially with the ambient lighting package
here's a video on youtube of the interior at night and you can also hear a rumble in the background of the exhaust at idle

i think the way chevy was thinking was that each year they can improve the interior feature by feature to keep the market interested...remember this is the first year back so they have to make this generation last a good 5-6 years so this is the starting point for what is likely to include a stand-alone navigation system, finer materials, maybe a heads-up display (it was originally going to include it but now that i think about it i think chevy wanted to offer it a little further down the road on future models to lure people in the market that haven't succumbed to the camaro yet lol
), etc...
i think the interior will improve in years to come for sure...

Cool Video.
Chevy may be saving it for later on and since they are left standing with GM reorganization, they are poised to do wonderful things.
The other unfortunate side is that the Camaro is a Mustang competitor in every way. Interiors in past pony cars were kept sparse and simple. Only in the newer upgraded GT's , like the GT500 will you get an interior with better materials and seats. Mustang has improved in this department even with the new 2010 Mustang however, which is basically a 2008 Bullitt.
Camaro will have to raise the bar with its interior. The exterior is awesome.
