Corvette guy very interested in C5 Camaro
Hi folks,
I am a C6 Corvette guy, but I have to say that I am really interested in the new Camaro. I think I would jump if there was a convertible. It also needs to be 2 inches lower, but that can be fixed.
How do you think it will hanlde in Canadian winters? is it about as stupid as thrying to drive a vette in the winter, which I do not even try, it "rests" all winter...
thanks for the advice

Don't ever call it a C5, lets leave that for the Corvette guys. 5th Gen will do fine

You keep some good snow tires on it and drive very carefully, and you will manage, I think. But for the cost of those snow tires, just buy a Chevette or whatever beater you can find instead.
After all, no matter how careful you are, you can't ever really count on the other idiots being the same.

hope so, and I hope they make the top hidden when down as opposed to a cabriolet version where is sits on the back sill - ugh.
I am sure they will do it right, can't wait to see the design...

i've heard on the camaro5 forum that the convertible won't come until the 2012 model year so an order can be placed probably next fall at earliest...
i don't have the link to the discussion on camaro5 right now but if i come across it later i'll post it...i believe that information came out of a nationwide showing of the convertible model to dealers (where no camaras were allowed unfortunately)

i know it would seem logical that if they are already showing the model to dealers then it would be for next year but they're probably just perfecting it...i can't blame them for that because that's what they did with the 2010 model and let me tell you it definitely paid off!
