Heh I think the new camaro looks sick, bad ***, and cant wait to own one

 

I have been a camaro lover since I was about 6 years old and the guy down the street from me had a 69 SS black on black with white racing stripes. That car was just amazing. I grew up around gm cars my uncles got a 1971 Chevelle and my dad has a 87' Grand National and an 87' Turbo T. I'm only 18 years old so by the time I got my license the camaro was done with. My parents wanted me to get a new car for college because i was driving an old beat up 91 cavilier so the only choice i really had was the mustang and i love the car. When i heard that gm was coming out with a retro camaro i was estatic but i have to say that i was just disgusted with that horrible looking car. I mean is it really that hard. If gm would just realize that people dont want the futuristic look and do what dodge is doing they would hold my interest. All they have to do is reproduce the 67-69 with updated technology and i guarentee you that they would sell alot more then the mustangs. I have never come across any car guy that didnt like the 1st gen camaros. JMO

 

I like it. Of course it's going to look different, it's a new generation of Camaro.

 

I can understand what some of you are saying in the light of "its a new gen/5th gen! Of course its going to look different," But just like every one else is saying, its supposed to be retro. A kick back to the '69 body style. The MOST saught affter camaro on the planet.

Is it ugly on its own as a car... a little. I dont like it to much my self. Does it look like a 1st gen, NO!! does it slightly resemble a 1st gen... Sort of but, only if you **** your head, squint your eyes and shake your head really fast.

Who ever designed this thing should be fired. It DOES look like the Cadillac CTS. And that in its self is the problem. It's GM trying to save some $$ by building the car on an already pre-existing platform. The camaro NEVER shared a chasis with any other GM product. I hate it when companies do this kind of crap. It's like they dont understand if your going to do it, doit right or dont do it at all.

GM has absolutely FAILED on this one. If I ever were to meet the guy who is resposible for letting this pass, i would kick him in the ***** b/c he doesn't deserve to have them.

 

(sigh)...I dont like it at all...It looks like a cadillac...It looks like a mom car...I dont like the whole " future" look...Gm is getting lazy...All the 2007 cars look the same...I cant believe This lead disigner is a japanese man...This is an American muscle car...I have to agree with the whole ( grab some 50 year old man they meet at a local car show that owns a 69 Camaro. Im sure his idea would be 1000x better) Idea...It probably would...This sucks...[:@][:'(]

i dont think its 100% bad looking. but it is 95% bad looking. i think they should bring back the old school front end like off the 68 or 69 put the old 15' rims on it with big meaty white wall tires mabye a 355/60ZR15 custom cheater slicks in back none of this 18' or 19' rim **** like on the vettes. offer it with the 572 then use an old school 4 speed rock crusher trans. screw gas milage put sick gears in the back. and offer a limited editon that comes bored and sleeved (if you can even do that to a 572) and blown w/quad 3' pipes should push over 1000+hp (put that in your pipe and smoke it hybrid drivers). that would be above and beyond anything anything ford or chrysler would ever dream of only way that would happen is if chevy or pontiac made it happen.i want good old fashion ground shaking earth shattering power that only gm can provide. i would be willing to take a morgage out to buy that thing then live in it. of course they should offer it in a convertible and v6 all that boaring stuff. as you can see im all about the power. chevy could do all that and still sell it for less then that ***** ford gt

 

I bet in 2009 they will reintroduce the firebird CAMARO-1967 and 2007 ; FIREBIRD-1969 and 2009? perhaps?

 

Personally I love the new camaro. I mean you can't expect GM to bring back the exact styling of the original car. Look at mustang, ya it looks fine, but it's not exactly like the original fastback. It has new lines and a newer fresher look. Ya it may not be what you wanted but an automotive corporation can't make the same old thing over and over and over just to make some people happy. Their out there to bring a new look on the street. Ya the new camaro looks kinda like the cadillac but thats a body style thats working right now and is bringing in the money so they try to work with that to make money. The new concept is rocking just be happy that camaro actually has a good chance of coming back. Oh ya and by the way the reason it took so long is because, FROM WHAT I'VE READ, that GM sighned a contract saying that they will wait so long to reintraduse the car back into the market. Oh ya and the reason mustang came out so fast with a new concept is because they had no compotion from GM so they could experament with out worries besides mustangs a good seller hell I see a lot of women driving them and since women out number men ford counted on that to keep their number up

I already have a '69 Camaro and really like it. I am hoping to buy a 2009 Camaro when it comes out. If I wanted another '69, I go buy another one. Maybe if you really want a '69 you should go buy one. . . just a thought.
