Default Bought a 2014 Camaro 3.6 L

So I bought a 2014 from a friend of a friend. The car was not taken care of, it looks like it was abandoned in harsh weather but hey, for 5,000 bucks, I will take it since it needs a ton of stuff. Kelly Blue Book had it for around 10k as a fair price so after I am done fixing it up it might cost me a bit less than that but with my choice of paint, tires, and seats!!

Gonna paint it, replace the seats and do a full flush of all fluids and get new tires and I am set.

so I was researching oils and fluids and need some opinions. Found these:
https://www.redlineoil.com/5w30-motor-oil
and
https://www.searchforparts.com/oil-c...-camaro-3.6l-3

they both seem rock solid. or maybe you can suggest something else. I want something that will protect the engine because I have a heavy foot and rev up the engine frequently.

I already have the plan for the paint and the seats will be Recaro which are awesome but also if you can suggest a top brand of tires, I am not familiar at all with high-end brands except for the regular firestone or Goodyear cookie-cutter tires which I really do not care for.

thanks!!!!

Unless your Camaro is a drag car that runs 7's in the 1/4 mile and you're rebuilding the engine regularly, I highly recommend the Amsoil over Red Line. A good friend of mine owns a large truck fleet. Him and his partner thought of everything they could trying to reduce maintenance costs. They tried every conventional and synthetic oil under the sun. Their accountant told them that after they switched their entire fleet to Amsoil, their profits actually started to go up. I asked them how on earth could changing oil brands make your profits go up? I told him he was nuts. He then started telling me about his accountant running the reports and showing how they reduced the number of oil changes, which lead to more people on the road doing service calls. He said they sometimes have over 200 trucks on the road at one time. If each truck drives an average of 22,000 miles per year and changes the oil every 3,000 miles, that's about 7 oil changes per year. When you have 200 trucks, that's 1,400 oil changes that they have to pay for. Not only do they pay for the oil changes, but the whole time that truck is sitting in a service bay or in line waiting for service, it's losing $100-200 per hour. He said that now they switched to that Amsoil Signature and use an EAO filter, they go a full 25,000 miles between doing an oil change. Now they do around 200 oil changes per year instead of 1,400. HUGE difference. He said with the other oils, they would have engine failures. Before the Amsoil tranny fluid, they would have transmissions go out at 80,000 and 90,000 miles. He said now that they switched all of the trucks to 100% Amsoil in the engine, transmission and differentials, they have never had a single failure in over 10+ years. He told me some of their trucks have north of 400,000 miles on them and run like new. He told me the main service he does now is alternators, water pumps, batteries and shocks... and some other suspension parts that wear out, ball joints and what not.

He's one of MANY people I know using this oil. Not only him, but ever since he showed me all of this information, I started using it in my car, my wife's SUV, my two son's cars. And let me tell you... myself personally, between all 4 of us, I was spending MANY weekends doing oil changes. With 4 people driving a lot, that got to be a HUGE headache. Instead of enjoying time with my wife, I'd be crawling under cars and running off to the part store to recycle dirty oil. Most of us average 20,000 miles per year of driving. So before Amsoil, I was doing 24 oil changes per year for all 4 of our cars... MYSELF. I felt like every other week or so I was changing the oil on one of our cars. This oil IS A GODSEND!!!!! Yes, I could go and buy an electric car... but have you seen how much it costs to replace a battery once those cars break warranty? FORGET THAT. Plus my cars are all finally paid off. I don't want to start the payment cycle again with 4 new electric cars. It's far cheaper to maintain what I have.

My wife still has her 2000 Z28 with the 6-speed manual and loves it. She's tried looking at other cars over the years, but when she gets back in her Camaro, it's so much more fun to drive. It's been garage kept since new and still looks like brand new.

That's the oil and filter we're using now for it. At 15,000 miles I change it. Last time I checked she had over 180,000 miles on the car. Engine runs perfect. That LS1 engine IS A SCREAMER and barks 2nd and 3rd gear like nobody's business. Still goes sideways when you his 2nd. My other son beats the hell out of his car and drives it like he stole it. Zero engine failures, although we did have to change the motor mounts a few times from all of those 5,000 RPM clutch dumps he thinks is so funny to keep doing in the street.

Anyway, I'm going on too much. I hope I made my point. Good luck with that Camaro. Those are also beautiful machines. I remember looking at that body style when the 2009's were out brand new. I loved the retro look.
