2013 SS Custom Grind Cam questions
I just recently bought a 2013 Camaro SS and the 1st owner had a Comp Cam custom grind. Custom measurements were 231/243 .617/.624 115 LS. I have tried to research the difference between the measurements but haven't been able to find any information. My question is, is this a good custom grind? What was his intention with these measurements? Any information would be helpful. Thank you!
Very similar to the Comp cam in my 2001 LS1 with LS6 heads and intake.
231/239 .617/.624 113
Should be a great cam for your 2013 assuming you have a stick shift, does the car have headers and has it had a tune?

Yes, it is a manual. It currently has a Vararam intake, Texas speed long tube headers , CNC ported heads, the Comp custom grind cam, and a normal street tune apparently which is I'm assuming just a 93 tune. The owner said he was attempting to make it into a drag car? and also did that specific custom grind so that it would work with a blower. I was just not familiar with custom grinds or why you would do a custom to begin with. Was yours custom?
Yes ,the guy that tuned my car ordered the cam.
I told him I didn't mind a rough idle similar to the old solid lifter cams in the 1960's Z28's.
It's a little lumpy but the car isn't a daily driver so I'm fine with that.
The LS1 is only a 5.7 and the motor is original with the exception of the cam and related parts (LS7 lifters, hardened pushrods,Comp valve springs,Ktech timing chain) LS6 heads sourced from a 2004 Z06 Corvette and an aluminum flywheel with an LS7 clutch, the LS6 intake came stock on 2001 and 2002 SS cars.
It has American Racing long tube headers with an off road y-pipe (no cats) and GMMG chambered exhaust, pretty loud. lol
