2010 Pricing
I am in the market for a 2010 in May and just wondered if anyone who has bought one can post on the deal they got? Are they getting invoice? Above invocie? I have heard different stories and just wanted to be prepared when I go into my dealer in May. Thanks in advance!
Well, I didn't get much of a deal from the dealer. I bought it back in December during the red tag, but every model EXCEPT the camaro and vette had a tag. You can get discounts for gm loyalty (purchased new at time) if you trade in. If you are a member of USAA you get a $750 discount, other than that, nothing much. Oh, and if you opt out of the sixty day "bring it back" offer, you get an extra $500 off. Hope this gives some insight. So to sum up, expect to pay a little above invoice. The V8s start at 34k cheapest. Not to ramble on, but the V6 RS with manual trans would be the better buy, it handles better and is really quick for a six cylinder.
From what I hear they did away with the bring it back offer? The loyalty coupon I had expired 2-1-2010 but I have bought my last 2 Chevy's from Classic in Grapevine, Tx and they never sell above invoice from what I hear, but we will see. Thanks for the info.
Since you have a computer use the internet to your advantage. Google is a very useful tool when car shopping, you can find dealers within the area you are willing to travel and browse their inventory online, and you will become familiar with pricing so you once you find the exact car you want you will be armed with other dealer prices so you can haggle away.
I went to all the local dealers within a 25 mile radius and test drove a few, (and even a Challenger SE) and ended up traveling 60 miles to Harrisburg to get the best deal. They all gave me the same line, "you can shop around all you want but you won't get a better deal anywhere"...... I say Horsehockey to that, keep your ground and be willing to walk out if they aren't willing to budge at all, After I purchased mine I had 2 dealers call me within 3 days with a lower offer.
Good luck in your search and have fun, I know I did!

I couldn't believe that they are still selling them here for $52,000!! Well, i dont know about "selling them" that one has been sitting on the lot 2 months now. Its so crazy though. I actually saw a woman buy one for $54k off of lewis chevrolet in beckley wv. I even told her that it was $20k too much and she got mad and thought that i wanted to buy it and scare her off. Most places have came back to between $38k-$33k her in WV.
Member of USAA and used the $750 GM discount, plus Capital Chevrolet in Austin dropped another $500. Got a 2010 2LT for $29,310 two weeks ago (MSRP $30,560). Has RS package (headlights, wheels. spoiler), backup sensors, remote start and auto trans.
