Read more the auto has some active fuel-management features that can shut down cylinders to get better MPG. IMHO, they should make that a switchable feature to get the same power as the manual.

its not. people overestimate the value of the fuel control systems.... not to offend a member (if u recognize this im not calling u out, ive made noob posts too [&o]we all do) but someone recently thought that changing the comp was similar to changing heads. its very much not so!
just like here. why would a fuel management system do anything to HURT performance in a performance car?? its almost like libertad thinks the fuel shutoff to some cyl will continue at WOT . only a complete retard would program a PCM that wouldnt work at the engines intrinsic optimum under WOT. therefore the engine will work just as if NO fuel management system is in place when the car is pushed to the "limit". the auto only has "less" hp because its a different platform. but we all know (all too well) the auto industry politics. the different engines my not be different at all. 4 years from now we will all be schooling noobs on how the powertrains for the auto/manual are exactly the same just as the z/ss is the same now. it takes money to develope powertrain platforms, so there is a very good chance that the rated numbers dont mean anything. id have to see cam specs and other engine details, but i would assume the peak power of the engines are the same regardless of factory ratings. id bet my 305hp ls1 trans am on it
(btw, spartan, this post coincides with the one in ur thread....... just to prove a point....)
