The Z28 with the LS2 will be the initial top dog Camaro option, though I hear RS's are going to again host the smaller motor.

From my information it's being debated wither the IROC-Z or SS badge weighs more. Like influence wise.

I dunno though, I just want to see a legitimate Chevy Camaro, hopefully a Firebird\Trans Am from Pontiac also to get things back straight and some serious kickup on the aftermarket will work things up good.

As a Mustang and Camaro driver, I'm getting pretty bored of wiping the GTO down the block with fresh tire spinoff, it'd be good to have a Camaro actually worth some time to chase after.

Really?? How is that possible given that the LS2 is already out of production replaced by the LS3 (both are gen4 SBCs)? And the gen5 SBCs are getting ready to come on line already, the first gen5 GM engine is going to Cadillac (can you say "direct injection", as in injectors in the heads?). You can forget about IROC-Z, ain't gonna happen, in todays tight marketplace Chevy is highly unlikely to pay a licensing fee to IROC for each one built (yes, it's that competitive price wise these days). RS will be a trim only package and not an engine based model, look for base Camaro model, SS model, Z/28 model, the debate still rages about whether the SS or Z/28 will be "top dog", based on the hints I've seen from Chevy people on other forums I would guess that Z/28 will get the nod. At this point it looks like 2 V-6s are likely and 2 V-8s likely, but it is still all speculation as Chevy has not released any confirmed details. But you can take this to the bank, if a site tells you that the LS2 is going to be in the production Camaro, you can bet themost of the info they give you is wrong.

What I want to know is when did they decide to upgrade the 5.8L to a 6.2L. I also think the 6.2 should produce more than just 400 even the Gto product that much with a slightly smaller engine 6.0L and then why is the manuel getting more horses? 422hp I think it still should be producing more hp than this it's competor the challenger with again a slightly smaller engine produces 425hp I know it weighs heavyer but still has more power you know what I mean? But I do love the v6 and I know that is one of chevy's focus has been to make the 3.6L v6 better with 300hp it will beat it's mustang rival with 300hp as well but it is a bigger engine with a 4.6L v8.

That is what I am saying is the the slightly smaller engine of the GTO 6.0L produces 400hp as does the 6.2L of the Camaro. I guess since it was upgraded from the predicted 5.8 to the 6.2 I figured it would be like 20 more but for both manuel and automatic, I don't get why they lowered the automatic.
