2010 2SS/RS Features
Hi All,
I recently purchased my 2010 2SS/RS... When I looked in the trunk, to my surprise, in the compartment where I would normally see a spare tire, I found an air compressor and the battery.
My questions are:
1. How inconvenient is it to not have a spare tire?
2. How safe is it to have a battery in the trunk? The battery must emit gasses from the battery acid. Won't that harm the trunk and the contents inside?
May be I'm just paranoid, but I think its better to ask than to be sorry later...
Thanks in advance!

IMO Any flat tire would be an inconvenience, my car insurance does include breakdown towing so hopefully to a place I can get a replacement tire. As for battery in the trunk, it's been done before for decades including by myself for cars that install Turbo (My other car has a trunk mounted battery because it's boosted) or Supercharge systems and need the extra room up front! If you get too paranoid than consider switching to a power cell type battery like Optima! The trunk is actually a better environment for a battery too!!!
