Default 2010 2SS Manual Fuel Efficiency

Hello Everyone,
Got a 2SS a few weeks back. I was wondering how my shift patterns should be to make the most fuel efficient on non-highway driving? I currently am averaging 9.5mpg which is well below average.

Shift early, don't use or slip the clutch when you can and most importantly keep your foot out of it. While I don't have a 5th gen, I average 17 in town with my M6 LS1. When driving for efficiency I can easily upshift at 2k rpm or less, cruising RPM's are 1500 at the MOST. I never found skipping gears to be that helpful for me, but its something you can try; try going from 1st to 3rd or 4th.

Nothing tells better what you're doing than a gauge. Does your car have the info center that tells average and current mpg?
That would be a good way to watch how your right foot is affecting gas mileage.
