I hate to dash your hopes but I thought everyone knew GM killed the chassis program the Camaro was to be on! That happened several months ago, I even heard about the rumor on the Hot Rod Power Tour.
My good friend, who leaked the GTO to me, says it is dead! (By the way, they tried to find out who leaked it too! Funny, no one believed the Holden was really going to be a GTO!). Hopefully things will change with some of the new products down the road.
For now, your choices are several LS2 powered vehicles. Yeah, I agree, why come out with a small SUV with a LS2 when everyone who loves Camaros and Firebirds are waiting for the next F Body. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!!

well i still think that it will happen....however i dont see it in the next 2 years. But SUV sales will drop with rising gas prices over the next several years. So why not bring them back........granted the gas mileage on a muscle car isnt great it is still better than a big *** boat going down the road! My guess is that the price will be in the mid to upper 30k range though. But thats just my guess so it doesnt mean much. But as some of you have said.....with the return of the charger, t-bird, gto and soon to be others.....it only seems like its a matter of time. But with no set production car yet i dont see it by 2007.

I think it will happen too. They will need a sports car to go retro with and it won't be the vet since it is in direct competition with the viper which can't go retro. They already have the Impala out, they screw up the Nova every time it makes a comeback. I think it is down to the Camaro and the Chevelle. A retro Chevelle 454 would be nice but it would cut into vet sales if it was too nice. GM should do the Camaro like the 1st gen and the Firebird like the 2nd gen smokey and the badit.

Any way you look at it, they should produce something to compete with the Mustang and Charger. Killing the F-bodies a few years ago was a mistake but what they need to do is offer a great looking and fast Camaro at a reasonable price like in the Mustang range. They got way too expensive as time went on and nobody bought them.
