A few times when i park my car i'll pull the E-brake and like it will go all the way up because I guess I pulled it to far and this wierd snap noice happens....like the first time I did it I was freaked out cause I thought I broke something but now I just get pissed when it happens.

Is this gona hurt my tranny at all or anything else?

Won't hurt your tranny but I could mess up the Ebrake. It might get stuck on...or it might just stop working right, and have no braking power to it. Be careful with that

Your PARKING brake has nothing to do with your transmission. It is possible the parking brake is way out of adjustment. If you have a manual transmission that parking brake is even more important.

Yep, all the ebrake is, is a manual overide to the brakes ( it dosnt use hydrolics) Its just a cable pulling the rear shoes or caliper together and causing the car to stop. It is part of the brake unit, not the tranny...

I have the opposite problem, whenever I park on a hill and go to put my e-brake on, I can hardly pull it up. I have to use two hands and even then it doesnt go up half way. Got 1994 z28.

Just for the record. The hand brake is a parking brake only, not an emergency brake, and you will be hard pressed to bring the car to a stop by using it while the car is moving at any reasonable speed. That being said, it appears the cable or the linkage, or both need to be adjusted, and different year cars have different ways of doing it.
