Default E-brake question

I am in the middle of an upgrade on my 68 Camaro using an Art Morrison subframe. The subframe does not come with provisions for the stock E-brake set-up which I still want to use. I have no problems modifying the sub to run this set up. My old OEM sub had the E-brake going through the driver side rail and attaching to a bracket on the inside of the driver side rail. On the other side I have the link that went into a hole on the passenger side sub rail. I had always had the middle E-brake cable routed under the exhaust so that it hit the pipes when the E-brake was on. Has anybody ever tried routing the cable under the exhaust, or does that cause problems with contacting the driveshaft. Does anyone have pictures of their E-brake routing?
