How can I tell if a '79 is a real Z28 or not?

Going to look at another soon, thanks. Just want to be sure...

Would the car be a true Z28 if it reads Z28 on the cowl tag?

Is that all?

Well, the vin doesn't say much about it being a Z28.

I guess I just wanted to know whenever there is 'Z28' on the trim tag, it's always a Z28?

From those links it looks like it.

Just wanted to make sure.

Also, did an RS ever come with a 350? or were they just 305? Thanks.

If you remove the rear seat there may be a build sheet under the back side of it somewhere .This will have the vin number and all the factory options the car came with...like z28 ,rs,or whatever trim code the car was from birth .

My build sheet is attached to the spare tire parts in my trunk. I have a '77 Z-28. But, the VIN should have reference showing it to be a Z or not.
