Our '89 RS with 78K on it blew a head gasket. The oil looks like mud and the dipstick is a little blue (but may have always been that way). Do you suggest putting in a new head gasket + it needs valve seals, or I have been told that a 3.4 would bolt right in. Will a 3.4 fit, I guess not just fit, but will it hook up without modification?

personal opinion, just get another 2.8, its a decent motor for daily driver cars. unless you want to step up and dump a 350 in it, but that requires alot of changes

I pulled the intake and found globs of foam and sludge. It looks like the rear water jacket gasket is corroded and broken. Now what to do......gasket or swap with a #.4?

i dont understand why everyone wants to do that swap. just use the same size motor. i had an 88 Sport Coupe i bought with a blown motor. after getting a junkyard engine and redoing the gaskets and swapping the MFI, the motor ran like a champ...great car probably the best i ever owned

After ripping into this thing we found a blown intake gasket. Now, where can I get one without buying a complete rebuild set?
