My gas tank leaks alittle only when i go from like warm to cold wheather. Like when i park my car in the garage on cold concreat after being outside in the warm weather. I think it usually runs down the side of the tank. I figured it was prolly coming out off the vent on top. When i open the gas cap there is usally alot of pressure built up and that usually fixes it. It dosent like always leak tho so its not a leak in the tank or nothin i dont think. Would a gas cap do that? Any other ideas would be great. Its not a big problem but somthing that would be nice to fix.

I went out to the garage today again and there is gas on the floor thats dripping form the tank. I know it has to be somthing with the cap or somthing cause if i loosen the cap up it dosnt leak. I think i'll try a new cap then since the old one dosent seem to be letting out the pressure. If this sounds like it could be the problem please let me know. Thanks

yep, thats what it sounds like to me. When its warm out or you drive around, you're creating pressure in the tank, you probably don't have a vented gas cap. Get one and i bet that will fix it.

Emission regs require he cap in your car is to hold the pressure and not vent fumes out. If working properly the cap will only allows air in as the fuel is used up. Because it is holding pressure, it forces the gas to come out where the leak is. Probably a pin hole in the tank or fuel line.

I got a new cap and it seems to have fixed it.
