Default 1995 convertible Delco radio question

I have a 1995 convertible. It has the original Delco am/fm cassette radio. After the car is shutoff and key removed from ignition the radio displays the time still. Is this normal. Does the radio display suppose to go blank after the engine is shutoff and key removed? The display also does not dim with the interior dim switch. I got it from a dealer and they disconnected the radio because they said it was causing the battery to drain. I reconnected it and the clock display is always on. It looks like it has the original harness. There was a 1998 Pioneer disc changer in the trunk which I have since disconnected from system. Just wondering what is or isn't normal.

Thanks.

most gm's have a rap system so the accy power is still applied to the deck until the door is opened. does the deck still play until door is opened or as soon as key is turned to the off position?
