LT1 popping
When I first start my car the engine will pop and won't want to shift when you floor it. Once the check engine light comes on it runs a lot better. Has a msd vented optispark, new plugs and wires. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

What codes are you getting from the computer? When the check engine light comes on that car can go into "limp home mode". In this mode the computer ignores some sensor information and runs on a predefined fuel and spark table. On a nice day a car can run pretty good in LHM.
Most likely the codes stored in the system will tell you what sensor is giving a out of spec data feed. After that it is just figuring out why the sensor is reporting what it is.
You should always tell us the year. I would Suspect a Low voltage Mass air flow sensor. but there are a lot of things that will cause the lean pop.
