Tire Size?
I was looking to buy some rims for my '95 3.4L Camaro and was wondering on the tire size. I haven't lowered my car and don't plan to and was wondering what size could be put on these rims without having to shave off part of the well.
For Front wheel 17" x 8.5 / 56mm, Rear wheel 18" x 9.5 / 65mm, Bolt pattern 5 lug, 4.75.
I got a deal for some 225/45/17 size tires and wondered if they would fit on the 17" rims. And I had no clue on what would fit on the rear rims since they were slightly bigger. Thanks in advance.

Why should I be looking at 245 or 285 tires? Personally, i don't know squat about tires so according to a friend, they would fit but I wanted to make sure. Whats the difference between the three? And what size rims WOULD you recommend black? Plus, how would it make it go slower? Just wondering. thanks man
225/45/17 is to small in width for those wheels. 225 is the width/ 45 is the height/ 17 is the wheel Dia, this is a very simple explaination. If you iinsist on those tires a 17x 7 wheel. Check out www.tirerack for the best explaination about tires and wheels. Increased weigth for one with a V6. I have 17x8.5 wheels & 245/45/17 tires on my car.
