has anybody used anything like por-15, but that is less expensive. I've got a daily driver, that i want to spray the undercarriage, but dont want to spend 4-500 dollars i figure 3 gallons plus prep materials from por 15 will cost atleast that much. Any ideas other than rattle cans?

A little over kill on the amount of Por 15. Less then a gallon should be more then enough.
