Ok so I bought a pair of Z06 wheels but the original owner had them painted black. Underneath that paint is sparkling chrome. How do i get this Sh*t off. I have put gasoline on it , engine degreaser, and Bleach . Little by little its coming off but i have to scrape it wit a popsickle stick. The popsickle stick scrapes off the black paint but doesn't scracth the rim which is good : )

if you are getting it off with a popsicle stick then chances are that he didn't prep the rims right before he painted them.

the problem is that, this would only lead me to believe his rims were ruined and he just tried to do a cheap and easy cover-up on them. just because they look good in spots and under paint doesn't mean they are in good condition. you have to ask yourselk why he would have done this in the first place

you can use paint stripper on them to remove the paint but you take a chance at ruining the rim's finish is they aren't prefect. if there is any way for that stripper to get underneath the chrome it will fester there for a long time

I used brake fluid and the paint fell right off. The rims look GREAT. There is NO damage on the rims. I think they guy painted them because he wanted to match his black car.
