Falken FK452 vs Goodyear F1 Eagle
Does anyone have either one of these tires and what do you think about how good they perform? I used to have the F1 eagle tires 275/40/18 and when I slam on the gas I would get so much wheel spin and the fish tail take off but with these new Falkens, same size tire, I get almost no wheel spin and no fish tail what so ever. Are the Falkens FK452 better than the Goodyear F1 Eagles? I thought the F1's would be the better of the two.

You may want to check with Tire Rack, they have customer ratings on most tires. As for which one is better, you have to decide what is important to you. Drag racers like to have the most straight ahead traction, road racers like to have the most side traction for fast cornering, average drivers like good wet traction and long life. Most tires are a compromise, hardbe good ateverything.

I was starting to think that my LT1 didn't have the low end like I first thought. With the F1's from a dead stop I would have to fight just to keep the car going straight. With the Falkens I didn't have to do anything but look straight and drive. It was like night and day. I thought that the LT1 had such low end that it really wouldn't matter what tire was on the car. The car didn't feel like it lost any power but now I'm wondering.

Spinning tires does not win drag races. Your tiresprobably have much better traction than the old ones, and chances are the car is now accelerating faster than before without spinning tires

I have Falkens as well. They aren't the greatest tire, and personally if you have them don't do anything crazy aside from normal driving. If anything i would reccommend Toyo Proxies. Falkens may have the same tread pattern, but have stiffer sidewalls which increases the life of the tire, but decreases traction.

Well the Falkentires grip way better than the F1's ever did even when I first got them.Even from a roll I was able to break the tires loose. I was thinking that I had lost power at first because of the lack of wheel spin.
