Default yet another possible race

this time the competition is a little better than the 97 mustang gt.

there is a kid at a local high school that has a Twin Turbo Supra. they're stock 320hp, but hes put a different intake and exhaust on. does anyone know what his HP could possibly be after those 2 little mods?

I plan on getting at least a new exhaust system for my 01 SS. our cars almost weigh the same, and i want to know if i have a chance? this kid talks his car up a whole lot. its a nice car but i think i may be able to win. i just need some info and insight. please help me out if possible. thanks!

Turbos respond very well to simple intake and exhaust mods. I think if you run from a dig you have a chance, from a roll Supras are pretty strong. I hope you are getting long tube headers when you say you are getting full exhaust, they really wake up with them. Also the cat-back on the SS is already a pretty good flowing one, the only reason to change is for sound.

As far as performance goes they are all about the same. Quality wise the stainless steel ones such as Kooks are the best but will cost nearly twice as much.

I have the http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...03456&D=303456 Tri Y for my 79. They do sound a lot better, and I did notice that it does have increased power over the whole powerband.

Supras have big traction issues from a dig, especially if it is the 6 speed, and a supra wieghs 3600 lbs stock, were SS wieghs 4300lbs stock i believe mine said? cant remember been a while since i looked, from a roll i honestly think the supra will take you with just those little mods, and if he had a boost controller hed walk all over you :P but from a dig it should be a good close race. my friend had a BPU Supra and wed beat the new srt10 500hp Vipers in it... and all he had done was, boost controller, exauhst, intake, and front mount. A supra will be my next car, im on supra forums
