How would that even come into play if all you have to do is mat the gas while already in gear...

 

a lighter car with more power will always be faster than yours either he wasnt full throttle of he was making you feel better either way the rx8 has you

plus 30-60 is nothing why not go 0-100 and see who wins

 

It may have 30 more hp...but it also has 70 less ft lbs. of torque. That's a substantial amount

 

Well, mash the gas pedal and shift fast too. Maybe the guy isn't very good with a clutch?

 

I never shifted. I don't know if he did. We just went to 60 so it was just a second gear pull

 

Second gear races mean nothing.... I bet, if you guys go from a dig, you will be ahead up until 65 then he will pass you. But hey, roll races from my experiences are always considered ricer races but hey, you didn't hear that from me.

 

Ricers have to race from a roll because their engines don't make peak hp/tq till way higher in the rpm band. It's their way of not getting stomped on at a stop light by the big dogs!
That flying drag routine never made sense to me either.

 

Well we couldn't exactly come to a complete stop when traffic was behind us -_-

 

Im pretty sure there is a road where you could take the two cars and mash until the end of third gear though.... I have many near my area

 

I'm really hoping to get my camaro up to racing quality. My ex has a stock tiburon that has just been worked on cosmetically and she think's its the fastest thing around. I can't wait to leave her in the dust where she belongs.
