my friend has an LT1 Camaro, making something like 315hp. i had my motor dynoed and it came out with 400hp and 435ft/lbs at the crank. both are auto, he has 3.42 (posi) and i've got 3.23 (open diff).

who would take the win??

 

You have a better engine, but with the open differential you are going to get a lot of smoke and not much motion.

400+ HP & trq w/out an LSD is crazy. I think every car with over 200 HP should probly come with an LSD. You would be better off spinning from the start and catching and going than bogging off the line (depending apon how much u spin.) To get the best luanch on street tires you accully have to spin the tires just a wee bit, becuase the power makes up for the traction lost once it gets going.

 

so basically, he'll get me off the line, but i'll blow him away in the 1/4?
