ok i have an 01 ss camaro boltons, big cam heads around 450 hp, auto with 2500 stall shift kit, VS. a 01-02 duramax with PPE (300hp?) chip 6in lift 35's this kid wants to race my car what do you all think?? i know in 4x4 he will get me off the line and the truck has no trans work

 

What work do you exactly have done ? What are the specs on the cam ? Big cams dont always mean faster or horsepower.You can be losing power with too big of a cam.And a big cam doesnt work well with a 2500 stall, thats a fairly small torque converter.

 

do you seriously have to ask??? even bone stock a decently driven LS1 Camaro would WALK away from a chipped diesel. the PPE chip is only really good for about 110hp, so you're talking about a 440bhp truck that weighs at LEAST 7k lbs vs a 450hp Camaro that weighs about 3500lbs. a chipped LB7 Duramax (01-04.5) would be a good match for a stock LT1 Camaro. you should have no problem. even if he launches in 4hi, he's only going to get you for the first 100ft or so

and believe me about the Duramax's. i own an LB7, and they're not that quick.

lol i thought so too but i asked this on anothr fourm most of them said i would get beat or it would be close so that dampened my spirits just a lil, i told the guy i would race him for $100 i knew he would get a jump on me from a dead stop, him in 4x4as for the car not sure exactly what all is done but what i do no is......ms4 cam ported heads throttle body, ingectors tuned (needs re tune) i was told only thing stock is bottom end, trans. rebuilt shift kit stall, gears stock...3:73 commin soon, nitto drag radials. redline performance did the work and tune they said it dynoed 478 to the wheels, i dought it but ill find out this summer oh also it has been tuned to speed density/ no maf, and tuned to run without o2 sensors im pretty sure its a 383 also
