lol, if your LT1 is running right, it's gonna be a SLAUGHTER. the FASTEST a bone stock 5.0 has ever pulled is in the 14.5-14.8 second range.

edit: my 1993 Z28 with 191k miles went 13.99 @ 100mph bone stock.

foxbodies rule.....jk you shouldnt have much of a problem, you have a faster car with an auto he has a higher risk of driver error.

Its might be closer than y'all think. Those fuel injected little 302's are good engines and the car is light. With a few mods, it should be able to run with an LT1.

a bolt-on LT1 vs a stock 302. even if it was a Notch, the LT1 is gonna take off.

general rule of thumb is that it takes 10hp to overcome 100lbs. a FI 302 SBF is only 235bhp in a 3000lbs car (assuming it's a Notchback, hatch's are closer to 3200lbs), the LT1 is 275bhp in a 3400lbs car. add bolt on's and it's closer to 300bhp.

the main difference is going to be the torque. a FI 302 is only 300btq stock, LT1's are 325btq. after bolt-on's, could be around 335-340btq.

The LT1 is going to take it from a long shot. My buddy has a 302 sbf bore over to a 306 with headers, intake, cat delete, MSD, smog pump delete and pullies and still only managed to make 0.2 seconds faster than me on a crappy prepped track. If it was better prepped, I would have either been stock with him or passed him. And my car is good for keeping with LT1s anyday. So if your buddy is stock, he has no chance against you broski....

Yeah he's making up excuses on why he can't do it now lol. Im not waitin to race him to do mods so he better race me before this summer because I plan on headers, tune, and maybe rear gears before the summers over.

Typical Mustang owner.... I race any Mustang whether they beat me or not. I don't care because at the end of the day, if I stay with them, I am a 4banger vs an 8. And the best part is, can't beat the fuel economy.

Yeah a lot of people underestimate 4 cylinder cars. You can make any car fast if you know what to do.
