The Viper is essentially an AC cobra: Big engine-weight-size=speed. It wasn't until the last two versions though, that they got the formula totally right.

Now it's more like: Big engine+technology=massive power -> massive power+still small and light=disgusting amounts of speed. -> disgusting amounts of speed+true sportscar suspension=death to 95% of the cars on the road on the strip and track!

anyway im not 100% sure it was a gts it was blue with white racing stripes like most of the gts were back then so i guessed i kinda just assumed it was a gts sorry, and it was a fairly new looking one i know that for a fact!

and if those number are CORRECT the 600hp and 560ft/lbs aint far off what my 468 is laying down either... im in my 81 camaro in case some of you cared... and i didn't have my camera nor did i have my cell to take any pics wish i did tho.....

 

Well, they make 600/560 at the crank. So if that's what you're putting to the ground, then I think you'd have taken care of him! (Assuming you've got a proper suspension and what-not!)

Sounds like a pretty good story, although I'm not exactly sure what's going on due to the lack of punctuation. Did you consider maybe the Viper just didn't want to race from the outset? I know there are times when I see Hondas with a fart-can and I don't even want to waste the gas to deal with them, just another perspective.

 

thats possible that or he was alittle worried lol.... cuz he seemed to let her go behind me after i got off the throttleafter turning from the lights, which makes me wonder why he didnt wanna run

yeah, ive only seen 2 vipers around me (a 1st gen and a 3rd gen) i never see them race, but ive seen a bunch of modded 911's runnin around, but not that many vettes, and camaros.

 

ya i see a few camaro's around and i see ALOT of vette's seems vette's down here are like caviler or sunfire's everyone has one pretty well.. lol

but havent got the chance to line a vette up yet, buddy that lives in town here wont race me tho with his vette...
