SS vs SVT
Well I drove the Maro around a little tonight, well my buddy Paul wanted to do something tonight so he came up to my shop and hes always making excuses for not wanting to race the SS. Like "Oh it to cold out and we don't want you wrecking your beloved SS" or "Oh the truck isn't running right" or my fav "You better get some mods before you go ****ing with a real SVT"
Anyways I talk him into it, but since I have bald DR's he didn't wanna go from a dig. So 1st run from a 50 roll (His choice) 3 honk it, by 140 I have a good 3-4 cars on him. 2nd run 35 roll (my choice) get a massive leap out on him and he stays about half a car behind me until about 100 were I pull hard.
My car: power wise I'm stock, some chasie work, some suspension, but stock down to the Lid.
His truck:K&N, 4 PSI pulley,T pan, Boost by-pass mod, cat-back
Im guessing this car stock is a 12.80 car around 110

RE: SS vs SVT
Your 1/4 mile time depends on your launch and driving ability to go just off of power. 12.8 isn't unheard of (I believe it's the LS1 record), but you need to be an impressive driver to pull it off. Take the car to the strip and see how you do!

RE: SS vs SVT
ur car stock 12.8? well, thats the record, but dont get ur hopes up, and 110 is a little high. 106 is a decent trap for an ls1.
his truck with a 4lbs pulley is a little weird..... they should boost more than that stock. but they are high 13 trucks still. with what u said im assuming you didnt spray him then, i wouldnt expect too much of a different result than what u said stock for stock

12.69 @ 110, completely stock with just DR's (or so the description says) in a 2002 35th Anniv. SS.

RE: SS vs SVT
i know, im just saying we quote record numbers alot because IMO, when you want to compare cars you should look at the absolute best seen, because we can then safely say we are ruling out as much of the driver as possible (like mustang s197 record vs ls1 record for example). it shows what the cars are capable of, and gives a baseline for comparison. you can then say that the average stang driver and the average ls1 driver will both be behind the record by about the same amount and therefore you can predict an outcome. i just dont think he should get his hopes up for a 12 right away

RE: SS vs SVT
Yeah but how many stock LS1's have you seen dyno 325?
He ran a 13.1 last summer with the same mods, but since he was on street tires he didnt wanna go from a dig, I have some crappy cell phone footage [&o]
