His neon cost 18 + another 4 in mods

Mine was 6 + like 2 in fixes/body work (No major upgrades in power)

 

If he has 4 in mods im going to lean towards the srt4, if that 4k is all under the hood though.

 

Most def if all 4k is under the hood again i have to say DAMN SRT-4s >.<

 

Alright about the SRT4 they come stock pushing 14 psi and have no problems with it. If he has done mods to the motor to beef it up he is stupid for pushing lower boost. My brother has a SRT4 with a stage 3 kit on it and my stock 02 LS1 has no chance against it he has dynoed at 330 fwhp and 380 to the crank at 21 psi. I very seriously doubt your friend has 320 hp on 12 psi. I am not familiar with what kind of power your car has but this should give you an idea of what it might do.

It might have been more, not sure. He has done alot of random ricery crap to it, neons and rims and junk...

 

i think he is either lying to you about the boost or you didn't hear him correctly. just a stock srt boosts 14 lbs. i am still on the stock turbo and i have been running 22 lbs. of boost for over a year now with ~ 75 trips down the strip. if he has $4000 worth of work done to it he should be pushing more lbs.

 

Unless he bought a much bigger turbo. 12lbs. of boost out of a T4 turbo is not the same as 12lbs. out of a stock turbo. I didn't believe that at first but after enough reading I've found that to be the truth. And maybe it can handle much more boost but maybe the guy isn't stupid and does realize people blow em up all the time from running too much boost.

 

He was running 17 lbs of boost, but then someone stole the computer monitoring his boost... So it reset back to a default 12... Thats what he said anyway. i dunno.

We ended up running em the other night, started at 20 and went to around 90. Ended up winning by a tiny amount. Then we went to my friends house and made fun of his acura.
