s2000 vs 2000 camaro z/28
The 01' and 02' LS1's come with the LS6 intake, the later years do not, but I think that's only good for 5-10hp. Other than that their isn't really a power difference between a LS1 Z28 and an LS1 SS, chevy said there was more in the SS but it's marketing hype. Only real difference is in the suspension and the appearence package.
SS has ram air, but yes, more of a collectors value/advertising
LS1's were underated ~300hp or whatever, I'd say you would beat the s2000 from a roll with an LS1
An easy way to tell which 4th gen camaro has an LS1 is the front end, the sealed beam headlight-camaro's (like mine) would have the LT1 and the newer, face-lifted 4th gens (like 98ss) would have the LS1 (93-97 LT1, 98-02 LS1)

Alright well i know a guy at work who has a 2000 camaro z-28 who wants to race that s2000 and he's not sure of the outcome. But i keep telling him he should stomp it but the s2000 is pretty quick though.
Even if its a 2006 s2000 which is the fastest year for the car, it'd lose considerably. Its rated stock at a 5.5 0-60 and a 14.0 1/4 mile compared to a mid to low 13 second stock ls1. Simple numbers brother
Yea so they raced........and im just glad i was in the camaro because if i was in the s2000 all i would have been looking at was the *** end of a camaro. So basically the camaro beat the **** out of the s2k from a 40 roll.
yea it was pretty sick. We probably went all the way up to about 110 or so. Then we did another 40 roll and i spotted a cop and we shut them down going 46 in a 45.....we were sooooo lucky. We also raced a 350z and we beat it buy about 2 car lengths.
