technically, your 3.8 is a econonmy car. thats what the v6 pony cars were made for.

don't forget IRL and SRT4.

some economy cars, such as the R32, IRL, SS/SC, etc were built for speed better than your 3.8 or a LS1 for that matter. R32s come stock with some of the best suspension/brake, etc parts available. and don't kid yourself if you think brakes and suspension arent important to going fast.

I don't really think my car is an economy car lol, I think I might have hit 25 mpg on the highway once, an LS1 could definately hit that.
They built the 6's for appealing to people that didn't want a full blown muscle car with a Corvette engine.

I'd say that they offer the v6 as an economy option. That's why I originally bought my V6. I didn't want to pay for premium and get bad mileage.

about the IRL, the other night i was in my tahoe and my friend in his IRL..following me through a industrial park. needless to say, not impressed...he couldnt get around me.
