i apologize for my ignorance. i guess i just should have known the difference between a v6 and an RS when i have a Z28. but i can die now that i know that difference, my life is complete.

LOL, Its actually much more complicated than that. The years are different (first gen headlights are prime example of standouts) and depends on RPO's ordered by origional purchaser, mods etc.... Some years RS only had V6, some only V8. So it is a broad subject. True the RS/SS V8 from 67-69were the base V8's, but only if ordered that way. And for 1st gen the RS was not the basepackage, but later years they were. There are publication out there with the sole intent of this subject alone.
