The truth of the matter is it was most likely a mark 3 or 4 none turbo 8 valve. The car makes around 115 horses at the crank. If it was a 01 or newer 1.8T (the turbo 20valve) it might have been a little closer but you should come out on top unless he was running the basic bolt ons (1.8t spring boost mod and circulation mod) cone filter, down pipe, cat back, etc it might have been a closer. The only jetta that would be a dead match would probably be the Mark 5 2.0 turbo 20valve and that would probably be a drivers race.

that was something i was wondering about the other day...how many people have run out of gas in their camaro? i've run on E for so long, and no "low gas" light has ever come on. My check engine light is on permanently right now cuz of the EGR valve, but othre than that, should I be looking for something? (sorry, hijack)

 

Ya, when my gauge hits the E it's over...I've ran it out of gas twice, and somehow both times, no check gauges light, I get to where I need to go, park the car and then when I come out it will start but it won't keep running, and then the check gauges light comes on.

 

yeah there isn't a low fuel light or anything. just decides it doesn't want to run anymore. its real fun sitting in the middle of the busiest road in the town during lunchhour and you can't move...then you see a semi flying up behind you in the same lane. lets just say my ********* were in my throat...thank god he stopped

 

lmao... i actually never let my tank get that low.. except for once.. and that was about 3 weeks ago and thas when my car f***k up. usually down to the 1/4 is were it gets filled back up

 

I ran out once. Wasn't pleasant, but it was very much my fault, it was on E in the morning, and I drove to work, then to lunch, then back to work, and then it ran out on the way home. It happened to be on Sunday evening in the middle of a ghetto.

 

I haven't run out of gas yet in mine (knock on simulated wood grain finish). I came close in DC the other day, and had to stop or else i think i would have. I tried to remain as inconspicuous as possible however as i pumped 10 bucks of gas in as quickly as possible ha
