I have a good friend and he saddly just invested in a "riced out" tiburon. He thinks that this thing is just amazing and can go a billion miles an hour. So i offered him a race and he said ya.

So this is what we got:

Hes got an 2001 tiburon 5spd no real mods besides an awful sounding exhaust, a horrific looking body kit, andneons straight from 2f2f.
I kno i didnt have to mention the exterrior stuff but i thought i would just throw that in there for sh*ts and giggles.

I have a 2000 V6 Camaro5spd. 180thermostat and a whisper lid.

I dont wana sound cocky at all but i think i will haveno problemwithhim but i just wanted to get some of your opinions.

Iplan on tapin the race so ill beable tohaveit up assoon as itgoes down.

but what are the specs on an 01 tiburon?

but stock your only makes 150hp at the rear wheels k&n has a dyno to prove it
and the tiburon makes 140 at the crack at the rear wheels is more like 120 or less give or take a few
if you know what your doin you should rape him

yeah thats where this belongs, but still they rate there motors at the flywheel. and it loses a good bit of hp threw drive train loss.

 

So how much does he got do you think hp wise?

i should have no problem correct?

 

at the most 125 if that, if he beats you park your car and put a forsale sign on it

 

The 3.8 is rated at 200hp, so thats more like 180hp to the rear wheels, ifyour losing 50hp through drive train loss something is wrong.Just because k&n says it dosen't make me believe it, not all dynos rate the same anyway. They are just a way to establish a base and make comparisons.

 

just saying from what i have found on the new, i know the temp, and the type of dyno and all that has to do with what the dyno results have to say

 

lol, You should beat him with out even trying. And you have a 5-speed, as long as your a decent driver you should be able to put him in the dust. Just make sure he has a chance to read the Camaro lettering on the back of your car so he knows not to mess with them next time.
