I believe, according to the reviews and tests done by Motor Trend, the 5.0 pulled a 12.7s quarter mile. So the an '02 SS would be a drivers race.
Yeah, i **** on GTs all day long with no problem! That's why I was so surprised with that 5.0!

Eatons! Yeah, 28 spline eatons! Eatons lock up and engage better than Auburns. Eatons will lock up almost instantly but Auburns take a second or two and then slowly start to engage.

Yeah, I'll try to explain the diff, between the diffs! lol! Eatons lock up better and will transfer the power equally and alot more proficiently. The reason Auburns can handle more HP is b/c they don't lockup as well and the power is slightly lost b/c it is not transferred and distributed equally like Eatons do. It is either put on one wheel more than the other or on one wheel entirely and they take alot longer to lock up. Eatons lock up almost instantly therefore using all of the power equally between both wheels.

That's a good deal so I would definitely agree with you on that! Have it for that just in case scenario! Always good to have a backup on almost everything! When I get the money to do gears and rear end and such I'm probably going to go with a good M9 and custom spec it myself. That's wat i'm going to do with a cam too(Custom grind). But if my Factory parts aren't broken I'm going to keep them for backups.

8 years for a Mustang to catch up with a Camaro isn't too bad, right?

I don't race much anymore and I've forgotten most of the ones I've had, but there's a few that stick out in my mind.

'87 Camaro IROC-Z vs. 2008 Mustang GT- I got him off the line and stayed ahead to about 50 mph, then he passed me.

Eagle Talon TSi vs. Dodge Stealth - Raced in about 6" of snow, figured I had the advantage because I had AWD and winter tires. I lost horribly, then found out the Stealth had AWD and 100 hp more.

2010 Cobalt LT vs. ricer Neon - Today. Figured I could have some fun. I heard a turbo in there somewhere, but managed to keep him behind me right off the line and on up to about 75 mph, when I decided I'd done enough and slowed down.

There, one for each relevant car. I also know the top speeds of each of 'em. The Camaro will hit 135 mph, the Talon wouldn't go faster than 120, and I've had the Cobalt to 112, although it could have done more.

That all said, 99.9% of the rest of the time I absolutely will not break the speed limit.

^^

Catch up is the word because it still doesn't dominate yet. There are a bit of flaws with the new 5.0, but as said before. A little off topic but still is about supporting Camaros!!

yesterday on the way to my weekend vacation, had two races.

once against a mini cooper S turbo. beat him twice. close race as i had luggage and three people in the car vs. him by himself, but still definitely a win.

then last night coming back, some losers in a riced out late 90's accord kept trying to race me. sat on my tail for a while, till my fiancee told me to lose them. let them get beside me and then walked away three times in a row, the last time i waved at them and they both just stared ahead.
