Porche
Ok...I'm driving down a local street coming home from work the other day and this silver Porche with a dude and a seriously hot looking chick pull up next to me at a red light. I think it was a 911 and it was brand new. They are looking over at me and this guy starts revving up and I'm thinking WTF???? I am 43 and quit street racing very many years ago.
But...I couldn't resist. I just dropped it into low...light turns green and I just hammer the gas. 5 grand slam second...5 grand in second...next red light. Porche pulls up 2 seconds later.
Guy looking straight ahead...funny...no revving. Incredibly hot chick...looking straight ahead.
Love the way this thing pulls off the line.

Uhm so you claim you beat him in your stock 92 RS??
If that was really a 911, he wasn't racing.... even a Carrera or Boxter will size the RS down....
Not saying anything bad about your Camaro because I love them but please clear this up.

I doubt the Porsche driver was interested in racing you, otherwise the Porsche 911 with 60% of its weight over the rear wheels, and at least double your power and much less weight would have just left you without even spinning a tire.
He has a stock 305 TBI. I had a 91 RS 305 until recently, so I know how well (or not) they are capable of performing. I wouldn't dream of toying with a Porsche with that car. If the Porsche didn't come out way ahead, he certainly wasn't trying. If he really did come to the light a couple of seconds after you did, maybe he stopped to change a flat tire first.
Who knows...maybe he couldn't drive it...he was an older sort of dude. I wouldn't mess with one straight up either and at the moment wasn't even thinking about it. I just thought it was funny..the looks on their faces when we got to the next light.
And yes it is Porsche...I'm a spelling bee runner up.

I had a 2004 911 I bought it new and put 39K on it in three years before trading it on the Aston. It had the least powerful engine (325 HP) in that model year and the Tiptronic (auto 5 spd) which is very slow off the line -- about 5.4 secs to 60, a full second slower than the manual 6-spd. At the track, the car would not even chirp the tires off the line. But it did very consistent high 13.4 -low 13.5 second 1/4 miles at 104-105 every time. A newer 2008-2009 model is about .6 seconds quicker.
The new pdk trans is catching on. All wheel drive on some models helps alot also.

eh, it may have been a carrera, but idk about a 911, and i could see you having him off the line, those traffic lights must have been pretty close together, i know my stock 350 can hammer the hell out of a 944 and 928, but thats not anything to be proud of lol
