Anybody know the E/T for a new automatic? My buddy bought one and I raced him and I wasn't far behind at all... Maybe a car length or two?

I know a stock manual one has done a 13.2. Not sure about an auto. With a normal driver you are probably looking anywhere from mid 13's to low 14's.

What kind of car do you have?

I would have to agree for the most part. I would say 13.7-14.0 would be about normal for most guys on a average night.

7stang i dont mean to be a **** but your dreaming at 13.2 for stock isnt that like the recored for a stock one? most of them with a average driver dip into the 13s other bubble into the 14s ive personally seen a guy do a burn out on street tires then spin then run a 19 now give thats here in colorado so thats more like a high 17 here but still 17 O.o

Was this the reason the tranny fell off?

13.2 would be a hell of a run in the 3 valve GT. and .4 faster then i have ever seen a stock one run. Not saying it cant be dont i am sure you could throw on a good set of rubber and probaly cut that off easy. Or at least as long as the clutch holds. However i stand by what i have said before 13.7-14.0 average driver stock.

So about a 14... I drive a 1999 Camaro 3.8 with full bolt ons and 3.42 posi rear with some mild head work... Bout to stick a 3.73 ring and pinion in there. I was just wondering how fast they are supposed to be because he didn't fare too well...

No, I know you are not trying to be a ****. Yes that is the best I have seen a stock S197 run. I believe it was GeneK (can't exactly remember his user name)on MF.com that got that. As I said in my prevous post - most people would run mid 13's to low 14's. Just as every LS1 driver wouldn't run a 12.8 stock. Believe me, I am not a Ford fanboy by any means - I owned a LT1 A4 Z for many years and loved it.

I am not sure what a full bolt onV6 Camaro will run but if you are near the low 14's the outcome really doesn't surprise me. I would expect him to beat you but not by bus lengths. Good race!

I hate to keep draging this I just dont want people calling bs. Here is a link to a guy and his timeslipwho ran a 12.97 with just a cai, tune and stock tires. Obviously the guy can really drive. Unfortunately the links to his slip to work anymore but I did find another one of his threads with one of his slips.

Believe me, I couldn't come close to this.[]
