My Camaro vs Hemi Charger?
One of those new Hemi Chargers pulled up next to me at a light and was doing the brake pumping thing . I'm really not prepared to hammer down on it yet since I'm waiting on my water pump and changing the transmission line do to a leak.. But I was just wondering if my 97 stock Z28 can keep with these new Hemi 4 door Chargers. AND WHY WOULD THEY MAKE A CALSSIC MUSCLE CAR LIKE THE CHARGER A 4 DOOR???

Depends on Which "Hemi" it was, the 5.7L or the 6.1L.
5.7L - 370 Hp 390 Tq (Varies a Little by Year)
6.1L - 425 Hp 420 Tq
Weight is around 4100 lbs.
Camaro:
LT1 5.7 V8 275 bhp @ 5200 rpm, 325 lb-ft @ 2400 rpm.
Curb Weight: 3375lbs

Specs from site: http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html
1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 5.7 14.1
1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 5.2 13.7
Couldn't find the 1997 Z-28 so lets say it runs a 14.0 flat on the quarter.
2005 Dodge Charger R/T 5.6 14.2
2006 Dodge Charger SRT-8 5.0. 13.5
And the new chargers are not listed so lets assume that the charger is faster in the new version so sorry to say that the Hemi won this bout.... It runs about 13.0 flat at the quarter. But if the moron doesn't know how to drive or doesn't maintain his vehicle like he should, then IDK.
And he probably wont race because he isn't saving the money he could by switching to Geiko.... (hahaha)

From Edmonds..........
The 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T with its 375-hp 5.7-liter V8 and six-speed manual transmission accelerated to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds (5.5 seconds with 1 foot of rollout like on a drag strip), then reached the quarter-mile in 14.1 seconds at 100.8 mph.
Can't imagine the Charger 4 door is faster.
The big Hemi is a little faster but still within driver error as to who would win.
The 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 with its 425-hp 6.1-liter V8 and six-speed manual transmission accelerated to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds (5.2 seconds with 1 foot of rollout), then reached the quarter-mile in 13.8 seconds at 103.0 mph. This compares to the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 with its five-speed automatic that achieved 60 mph in 5.1 seconds (4.8 seconds with 1 foot of rollout) and completed the quarter-mile in 13.2 seconds at 107.5 mph.
