im thinking about racing my dad here soon but i havent mentioned anything to him yet.i gotta 98 camaro z28 w/ nothing but a K & N air fliter so its basically stock and my dad has 2 different corvettes.a 87 vette and a 77 vette both completley stock.i can probablly take him in both right?? what do you guys think about it? thanx

 

you should be able to take the 87,not sure about the 77.

 

the got 350's in em but im not sure what they put out HP wise or what type of torque they put out either??any ideas?

 

Not sure on the #'s but I had a 87 and it was slow for a vette, drove great but about the same as an iroc.

I found these #'s for the 77 on two different sites...L48 had 180hp net and the L82 210hp net

 

what do ya got on the 77

 

stock vs. stock you should take them i'd imagine

 

You'd take both of them. The '77 has a smog motor, whether it's the L48 or the L82, you should be able to take both of them. The '87 will be harder than the '77.

 

I think you may get spanked, sorry; If you have the luck I did. I know that theyare almost the exact motor, but the corvette is lighter,and dad's usually have a trick or 2. My x and I raced his 90 or 91 corvette which i think is still the same motor as my 5.7 or very close and I lost bad. OR my car just sucks that bad(good possibility).

 

1987 curb weight: 3225ish pounds...so were talkin 150lbs lighter, but yes, they will get more out of their 240hp/345tq but I still think you should take him...your car is newer and probably in better mechanical shape because of that, and I think the LS1 will def take them
