You could at least buy something that has AWD like a WRX or something along those lines. On the other hand, the sleeper Neon is still pretty sick...
Audi S4, nobody expects to have a big Audi keep up with their sports cars

Lately I've been thinking about getting a 3 (or more) color 80s hatchback, moving the front seats to the back, building a new firewall, and using the newfound space to put a ton of RWD engine and trans into. I mean, 800hp goes a lot farther in a 1000lb shell than a 3000lb one. I can't imagine it would be all that hard to do a 350 with a couple GT35s or similar sized turbos when you make enough room. Of course, muffle it well, so between the turbos and mufflers, it would be almost silent. Now how fun would it be to run 7s in a car that looks like it is on it's way to the crusher?

tubed chassis is the only way to do it.

if your intrested, ive got a 1990 crx that weighs like 2000lbs before you strip it, you can have a try with it.

as far as 7 seconds, you'd have to have a tubed rear and giant rear tires, it would take some of the sleep away from it.

however 400+ hp on regular tires, you could get away with.

Civette did it. he put a corvette suspension and motor from a 2000 vette, into a Eg civic hatchback (92 - 95) he built the engine first tho.

Its crazy looking , i love it hes really popular on hondatech

don't go for a hatch, get a sedan. make it mid engined, rwd. then you can put a much bigger engine and have a good heater in the winter
