So my friend has a 2002 VW GTI 337 (manual) and says he can smoke me. Ive never raced him befor because i dont really like to beat on my car. I would say his car is not completely stock, he has Ecu scanned witch is now making him push 14 to 19 psi, he also has a cat back exaust, cai and bigger injectors. My car (auto) is pretty much stock all i got is cai and magnaflow cat back exaust and it 12 years old. Who do you think is going to win?

 

I think it would be close. You have more horsepower and nearly 100ftlbs more torque than him. He's lighter and turbo charged. You'd probably get him off the line then his turbo would kick in and he could hang with you but i think you'd beat him. 0-60 is like fractions of seconds apart and i think the lt1 has alot more high end torque than he could dream of. But i know stage two SRT-4's that are tearing it up.

He's got about 220-250 Horsepower and at least 250 ft lbs of torque.

 

I think i would have him from the stop also but he would eventually get up next to me, but from a 20 to 40mph roll I think he could spuell that turbo and own me. It really pisses me off.

 

Yeah. imagine if your Z was supercharged though he would be done.

i dont know man, if he's actually pushing around 19 LBS of intercooled boost he may have you, if its non intercooled or a crappy intercooler, money's on you, anyway, im rooting for ya.

 

It does have the stock side mount intercooler but he has a 3" down pipe coming for it.

 

What turbo is he running in that GTI. Is it a k03 or a k03 sport?
