LS1 VS LT1 can i take him?
I got me this friend you see, and he has a 98 Z28. I have a 96 Z28. I know that stock for stock off the line the LT1 take it, but in a drag the LS1 wins. Buuuuut, he has long tube headers and his 02 censors are just cut off, he also has a "custum" exhust. His car is not tuned at all for the parts. Sooo, do i stand i chance?

the fact that the LT1 is faster off the line is a misconception the LS1 does make better power on the top end so if your trying to race the two the start is where the LT1 has the best chance but most of off the line preformance is based on the driver

if its just for fun, might as well just race him.
You'll probably lose, the LS1 is already a slightly more powerful motor, and with LT headers and a exhaust, he'll probably have you beat. You don't really need to tune your car for headers and an exhaust, so I don't think it would make that much of a difference.

This is the interesting question, with the O2's cut off, and if he hasn't tuned for it then it won't put the computer into open loop, correct? Running in Closed Loop it runs rich and retards timing only having access to front O2's. Isn't this why people put in dummies in place of there Rear O2's to simulate them?
