my girlfriends sister drives a 1999 z28 ls1
i drive a 1993 lt1
her car is stock
i have an exhaust (no headers) a t56 tranny and a home modified airbox

thats IT ...that i know of....................... my motor is a fresh rebuild and i think it has to be modified


we lined up at a light
she revs her engine
we both rev the motors up then drop into gear
i pulledherinfirst by almost a length
i got a ****ty shift into 2nd and she closed the gap
3rd gear we are almost even then i shifted into 4th and it was over... i pulled her by 3 lengths by time she honked signalling i won(we agreed looser honked to end race b4 we started)
so 0-130 had her by 3 lengths if not more

and her car had a tune up 500 miles ago so it was in tip top shape.

THere's no way you're outrunning an LS1 with just an exhaust unless she did something wrong bro. Sorry to say.

So either she can't drive. Or she let you keep your pride as a man lol

 

there you have it right there. trying to outshift the auto is the quickest way to add up to a full second to your quarter mile. if you dont let it do its job, it tries to shift late, making you bounce off the rev limiter and lose time. race her again. tell her to just put it in D and let it do what it was built to do. im gunna put money on a different outcome.

alot of people swear by various over-ride techniques like simple self-shifting, or a d-2-d technique. it doesnt do anything. just put it in D and let the tranny do what it was designed to do.
