you know when you hear about those kids who are in 17 second cars and always try to "call out" cars that would smoke them. And you always wonder, why can't things like this happen to me. Well today it finally did. Some kid came up to me today and said he heard I drove a Camaro. I said yea, why? He asked if it was a Z28 or anything. I said no just the 1998 base with a few options. He asked if I was interested in a race, so I asked what kind of car he drives. He said he has a 1994 Camaro V6. After that the conversation went something like this:

Me: You have a 3.4L? With what mods?
Him: yes, all I have is an exhaust.
Me: hmmm, so how many lengths do you want?
Him: I don’t need any, I will smoke you
Me: (trying to contain my laughter with everything I have) My car has 40 HP more than your car, how do you plan on "smoking me?"

Then he claims he can out drive me. "Right....." I said we could do it at a place I know were we can go from a dig. He agreed and said we can do it sometime this weekend. I asked him what kind of tranny and he said its an automatic.

I was still kind of shocked after we talked, he actually said he would smoke me. And then he claimed he could out drive me. He looked like he was 16, I doubt he knows what torque braking is. So tomorrow I’m gunna put down some money and see if he is up for a real race.

Seriously, how can people be so ignorant. He thinks he is going to out drive me with his automatic, even though I have much more driving & racing experience. And that’s not even counting the fact that my car comes with 40 more HP than his. I mean, I could understand if it was just some kid looking to have some fun. I might even peddle him to make it more interesting. But after you say "I'll smoke you" I'm not going to give you anything. I’m going to launch hard, and run ***** out.

So anyone wanna place bets on how many lengths I put on him?

 

I dont know how either car performs so I cant call lengths, but omg, out driving you when you are in an auto. thats neat [&:]

 

Yea, thats one of the things Im looking foward to when I get my Z06. Not having to put up with people who dont know anything about cars or racing. I will finannly have some serious races. Oh well, for now I am happy with my car. Here are some specs:

1994 3.4L V6 Camaro

1998 3.8L V6 Camaro
BHP: 200 @ 5200 RPM

So he thinks that even though his car is older than mine, we will both have exhuast, I have a better intake & more HP, and more torque, and that I have more driving & racing exsperince that he will beat me. I dont want to race him for anything less than $20, its honestly one of the first times Ive had to say it will be a waist of gas.

 

umm. dude, dont hurt him too bad. lmao. Cant believe the guy thinks a 3.4 can take a 3.8 with the conditions.
I've driven a 3.4 a long time ago, before i even drove a 3.8 and it let me down.. Even though it was a V6 i was thinking.. wow, i wish it was faster. I almost bought that car too, kinda glad i didnt now.
The 3.8 has a nice pull to it even though its a V6.. Even my mustang friend was really suprised when he drove it.
Then again now that i think of it the V6 mustang i raced and beat (and later drove) was even slower than the 3.4...

change my mind.. MAYBE.. 5 lengths?
could be more, but i hope its not that bad

 

I say if you get a good jump it could be 6 or 7, but go easy, he is young, got a "muscle car" thinks he is the ****now. I was the same way the first month or so mine was on the road, then realized stock 307= slowwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!
