If u were manual u might have a chance...
It'll be close as long as u can drive though...
The '98 GT was not Ford's best...
It has an extra 10 horses over the '96 and '97 bringin it up to 225...
And i'm not sure bout how much torque...
But I think he's lighter than u...
Don't know...
How much does ur car weigh?
I raced a '96 w 3.73s o/r h-pipe CAI and STS and he BARELY beat me to 100 with me realin him back in about halfway through 3rd...
(And I've got a bad clutch[:@])
So good luck!
If u get lucky and they can't drive worth **** u could win it...

Only if he is a very bad driver. As i said the 98 is not ford's best year of the 2 valve 4.6 but it still has a fair bit of power on the 3.8 it is possible but i would not go as far as saying its a drivers race.

Well that was just one race I posted. I've beat other Mustang GT's and I've been beat bya few when I had my 3.8. They are both 15sec cars. Usually the GT will run a bit lower time, but on the street it could go either way. With the previous post, both our cars were autos with similar mileage, so drivers didn't really come into play. He was very suprised when I hung with him and couldn't believe I was stock, he kept asking what I had done to the car. In a perfect world, yeah the GT has the edge, but with different variables the Camaro could pull it out.

It's especially possible since both are autos. GM auto ~5535340% less drivetrain loss compared to fords auto.
