With 3 bodies inmy car, I walked all over the most riced out WRX I've ever seen.

New Civic Si. Raced him from a 70 roll to about 100, and I was so far ahead I thought he was done, but he was still on it, so I downshifted again and beat him a second time while he only raced once...

C5 vette auto out of a toll booth. He caught the jump, getting about a half car, which I took back plus a car by the top of 2nd, and he stayed there until 100mph or so when he let off.

Camaro Z28- Highway roll. He didn't have much above 120mph.

Neon green civic - His exhaust got louder and higher pitched, but he didn't go any faster. I beat him from a 75 roll without shifting out of 5th. Cool kid for a ricer though. Got a thumbs up, even though a 4 cylinder Ford Ranger could have made the same show.

07 Mustang GT - Not a challenge at all.

Ferrari - Wow, those tail lights looked great!
...................... really..........
I lost to the Ferrari. But I'll be trying to make some 12s this weekend. Last time I was out, I didn't make a single run slower than the 13s on 175/70-14 all season tires. The little neon has some go, as hard as it is to believe.
what he is saying is that your running a high 13, when a C5 vette can run a high 12. Now I know your FWD and do better from a roll. But the LS1 has alot of its power uptop and should have walked away from you. And your 2nd gear hold untill 100?
Well, I run a high 13 spinning the tires through the first 2 gears on rollerskates for tires. On sticky street tires, I would expect that number to drop to a 13.4, or a 12.9 on drag slicks. No proof of either of those claims yet though. No, second gear only goes to 67. 3rd to 106, 4th to 135, and 5th to a theoretical 195. At the end of second, he was at my back bumper. I shifted into 3rd, and from there to around 100, he didn't gain any ground back. I had just played with some tuning, so it'sa possibility I made more power than the 244 I dynoed, but I doubt it. It's just a really light car with hardly any parasitic drivetrain loss. Maybe it doesn't make sense, but the guy was pretty fat. Maybe he was weighing down the car. That was one that left me with a ****-eating grin the rest of the night though.

I didn't see him fall back during shifts. Might have been a stick, but if so, the guy could shift fast.

My point is that the only reason a C5 vette is faster than me is that it has an easier time getting traction at the line. I caught a good launch, but he still came out in front at the launch. I took it back, plus a little.

I've lost to a lotus elise, and a maserati of some kind. And all kinds of stuff at the track including a rusted out SUV (With some sort of motor swap) but I got lucky on that one.

Hmm... just looked up some slips on dragtimes.com and couldn't find any stock ones in the 12s besides the Z06 models. Most were mid-13. From what I've seen, they really open up with some basic bolt-ons though. Wow. But anyway, where was it seen that they run high 12s stock? Because you're right. I shouldn't have won if they are 12 second cars.

Your neon, non srt04 model is running low 13's?

Can you give me a list of mods, or at least a track slip?

Come on now brother.

And to beat a c5?

Was the Z28 an LT1 or an LS1?

And an 05+ mustang GT.

Come on now.

I don't believe your Neon is in the 14's let alone 13's.

Proof brother, proof.

Do I really have to go through this again?

http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fusea...deoid=10972134

That was on 7psi. I run about 11.5 now. I've also done a cam swap, stretching the powerband by quite a bit. No additional peak torque, but it doesn't fall off so fast now.

The 13.7 went as follows:
R/T - .225
60' - 2.243
330' - 6.109
1/8 - 9.901
1/8 MPH - 83.620
1000' - 11.619
1/4 - 13.743
1/4 MPH - 107.570

Enough proof?

The camaro LS1 could run low 13s with a good driver. The C5 could run a high 12 with a good driver. Some factory freak LS1 camaros ran high 12s bone stock. Infact 12.8 is the record for the LS1 camaro, bone stock.

And like I said earlier, you do better from a roll becuase your FWD. But the LS1 has alot of power up top. After 100 or so it can usally just walk away from most of the competition. and the vetter is even lighter.

There's not a doubt it my mind that if we kept on it to 140+, the vette would have just stomped me. The power/weight ratio advantage I have means nothing against wind drag.

Btw, I just took a video of the speedo on the way home from work tonight. Pulling from 35mph to 120mph took 13 seconds according to the little clock in my phone. I'll probably post it tomorrow. I have a cable at work I can transfer it with. You can tell it's a base model neon and not an SRT by the lack of a factory tach and 120mph speedo. (I added a little autometer 2 1/16 to the A pillar next to the boost controller and wideband...)

So the Z28 Camaros have come with both the LT1 and LS1, right? And the LS1 is the higher compression one, and makes more power? I would be willing to bet the one I came across wasn't the faster one. I would have had a lot more trouble with it. Wasn't a V6 either though. I could hear the V8.
