Default Duramax vs WS6 Trans Am

finally got a good run with the Duramax today, against a stock '02 Trans Am WS6. went from a 15 roll, me starting in 3rd gear. he honked it off, and we were off. he got a car jump on me as i waited for the turbo to spool, then at the top of 3rd i about blew the tires off. quick shift into 4th cured that problem, and then i started reeling him back in. another shift to 5th and i pulled even with him. slammed into 6th gear and put half a car on him till i hit my rev limiter (112mph).

not bad for a 7300lbs truck with a triple disc clutch and tune. and before anyone claims BS, it dynoed 598rwhp and 1042rwtq.

and yes, this is the big old service truck i'm talking about here...

i have a buddy with an 03 rc/loggers box. he has the zf6 too. we've been talking about doing some work with it. what tune did you do? and how much was the triple disc?

fwiw, you might want to ditch that stock exhaust asap. your egt's must be pretty high. i think the d-max pre-turbo max egt is 1450F.

again, impressive numbers from just a tune.

time for a dual CP3 setup!

i had the local speed shop here (Excessive Auto Sports) do a full blown dyno tune. clutch was $4200, but it's rated to handle 1000+whp. and stock exhaust is gonna be gone quite soon, going with a 4" turbo back straight pipe.

i wonder if you could get away with a double disc? i can't see my buddy wanting to push over 600hp.

4" straight pipe will sound good
